Bahrs Scrub is a suburb of Logan City in Queensland, Australia. The suburb is located 38km south of the Brisbane central business district. The suburbs surrounding Bahrs Scrub are Waterford, Holmview, Beenleigh, Mount Warren Park, Windaroo, Bannockburn, Belivah, and Buccan.
The suburb’s eastern boundary is the Beenleigh-Beaudesert Road which adjoins the suburbs of Windaroo and Mount Warren Park. The name of the suburb suggests that it was originally a scrubland but the origin of Bahrs isn’t clear.
However, it’s been attributed to Carl Willhelm Bahr, one of the early German settlers. Windaroo Creek, the tributary flowing east into the Albert River, has its headwaters in the suburb of Bahrs Creek. The Windaroo Valley State High School opened on January 1, 1994. There’s also an Albert Valley Park along the creek.
