Bunya is a suburb in Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia and is located 21km northwest of Brisbane. The suburb is surrounded by the following suburbs: Draper, Eatons Hill, Albany Creek, Everton Hills, Arana Hills, Ferny Hills, and Samford. The suburb lies between and is bounded by Bunyaville State Forest Park to the east and Samford State Forest Park to the west. It is also crossed by the Bergin Creek and Wongan Creek, both which enter the South Pine River on Bunya’s northern edge.

 The rural and residential subdivisions began in the 80s and continued during the subsequent decades as suburbs north and south of Bunya developed. Bunya is home to the James Drysdale Reserve which hosts several sports club including Pine Hills Pythons football club, who play in Capital League 1 and Pine Hills Netball Club who play in the Downey Park winter season.
