The Cedar Grove Weir, which began operations in 2008, is located along the northern boundary of the suburb. In 1888, a railway line to Beaudesert was built in the suburb and was called “Cedar Pocket”. The Cedar Grove State School opened in 1923 but closed in 1965. Cedar Grove was formerly in the Shire of Beaudesert but became a part of Logan City in 2008.
