Clayfield is one of the inner suburbs of the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is located about 7km from the Brisbane central business district and is surrounded by the suburbs Albion, Ascot, Hendra, Nundah, and Wooloowin. 

The suburb is bordered by Nundah to the north, Ascot and Hendra to the east, Wooloowin to the west, and Albion to the south. The name of the suburb was derived from the fine white-grey sedimentary clay which was mined in Albion, between Sykes Street and Morgan Street. The clay was used in the brickworks that once existed between Oriel Road and Reeve Street near Sandgate Road. Once known as “the clay fields”, the industry was vital to the residential surge of European settlement of inner-north Brisbane. 

The heritage listings in Clayfield include Lyndhurst, Turrawan, Tarranalma, Stanley Hall, and Ralahyne. Clayfield is also home to a number of schools including Aviation High, Clayfield College, Eagle Junction State Primary School, and St Rita’s College. The Kalinga Park and the Kalinga locality lay on the northern limit of the suburb. Clayfield also encompasses the locality of Eagle Junction.
