The suburb got its name from the Dennis Family, one of the first Europeans to settle there. It got the name “Daisy Hill” because the children saw daisies growing on a hill. A part of Daisy Hill’s western boundary follows the Pacific Motorway.
The Old St Mark’s Anglican Church is one of the heritage listings in the suburb. Daisy Hill is also home to the Daisy Hill State Forest. The area was declared a timber reserve in 1874. In 1917, it was declared a State Forest and in 1986, it was declared a state forest park.
