Eagle Farm is a suburb of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia that is largely industrial and is located around 6km from the Brisbane central business district. Other suburbs that surround Eagle Farm are Ascot, Brisbane Airport, Pinkenba, Murarrie, Morningside, and Hamilton. The suburb was a former site of Eagle Farm Airport, Brisbane’s former main airport before the Brisbane Airport opened. The suburb was also the site of the disused Eagle Farm railway station. 

The locality of Whinstantes is also located in Eagle Farm. The suburb is located within the industrial development zone known as Australia TradeCoast. In 1829, Captain Patrick Logan chose this well-watered, fertile site between the Brisbane River and Serpentine Creek to farm maize, pigs, and cattle. The suburb’s name first appeared in 1839. Eagle Farm was the name used to identify the cultivation area in convict era Brisbane. The origin of the name was apparently conjured from the eagles observed around the farm. 

During the 1850s, Aborigines set up camps in the Breakfast Creek Eagle Farm area which included groups of the Bribie Island, Ningy-Ningy (Toorbul Point to Redcliffe) and Wide Bay Aborigines who were losing their traditional territory further to the North. Eagle Farm is home to a number of heritage listings such as Allison Engine Testing Stands, Eagle Farm Women’s Prison and Factory Site, and Second World War Hangar No. 7. The Royal Queensland Golf Club is located at 431 Curtin West Avenue.
