Geebung is a suburb of northern Brisbane, Australia and is located about 12km from Brisbane central business district. The suburb is surrounded by these other suburbs: Zillmere, Boondall, Virginia, Wavell Heights, Chermside, and Aspley. The suburb was named after the Geebung tree belonging to the Persoonia genus.
The suburb used to be known as Geebong but the name was later changed because of handwritten letters getting incorrectly sent to Geelong. In 2013, the fossils of the remains of a rare 50-million-year old crocodile-like species and several other animals were discovered in the suburb.
Geebung is centred on its railway station along the railway line of Caboolture. Geebung railway station and Sunshine railway station both provide access to regular Queensland Rail City network services to Ipswich, Brisbane, Caboolture, and Sunshine Coast.
