Greenslopes is a suburb of the City of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia and is located 5km southeast of the Brisbane central business district. The suburbs surrounding Greenslopes are Woolloongabba, Annerley, Tarragindi, East Brisbane, Holland Park West, Coorparoo, and Holland Park. 

The suburb was named after an early estate in the area. The estate was owned Frederick Wecker, who purchased the land in 1857. Wecker named the area after its green pastures. Greenslopes is mostly residential with some commercial and light areas. A lot of dwellings in the suburb of Greenslopes are “character” homes of pre-war construction.

 Nowadays, two- and three-story apartment buildings are increasingly the norm. As for the terrain, Greenslopes has low hills in the east and south sloping down to the floodplain of Norman Creek, which curls around the western and northern edges of the suburb on its way to join the Brisbane River at Norman Park. Greenslopes is home to one of Brisbane’s largest hills, Stephens Mountain.
