It is bounded by the suburbs of Boronia Heights, Regents Park, Heritage Park, Logan Reserve, Chambers Flat, Park Ridge South, and Greenbank. The suburb lies to Logan’s west. Part of its western boundary is marked by the Mount Lindesay Highway.
The suburb was originally named “Logan Ridges” and was its name until the 1890s. They changed the name to reflect the area’s park-like nature. The Park Ridge Provisional School opened in 1895 between Hillcrest Road and Rosia Road, It became a state school in 1909 and was relocated to its present site in 1915. Other schools include Parklands Christian College and St Philomena School.
