Redland Bay is a township at the southern end of Redland City in Queensland, Australia. The suburb is located 35km southeast of Brisbane. Redland Bay is surrounded by Victoria Point, Southern Moreton Bay Islands, Woongoolba, Carbrook, and Mount Cotton. The suburb is named for the bay it sits on, which forms part of larger Moreton Bay. Its aboriginal name is “Talwalpin”, after the abundance of cottonwood trees in the area.
Redland Bay extends south from Victoria Point to the Logan River. Sometime between the 1860s and the 1870s, the land was settled by fam selectors. In 1890, a district cemetery was established in Serpentine Creek Road and is considered a heritage listing. Another heritage listing is the Redland Bay State School Residence on Gordon Road.
