Aspley is a suburb of the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia that is located approximately 13km north and about half an hour drive north of the Brisbane central business district. The suburb is positioned on flat ground on the south border of Cabbage Tree Creek, centered on Little Cabbage Tree Creek, and on the surrounding hills to the east and south. Aspley is surrounded by suburbs Bridgeman Downs and McDowall. The other suburbs are Carseldine, Zillmere, Geebung, Chermside, and Chermside West. 

In 1842, Brisbane was declared a free settlement. Right after this, people began exploring the lands to the north of Brisbane City. A northern route followed aboriginal tracks through what is now Kelvin Grove, Ennogera, Everton Hills, and Albany Creek onto North Pine. The route is still known as “Old Northern Road” or “Old North Road” in places. In 1857, the first land sales in the area east of the Old Northern Road and South Pine River begin under the control of North South Wales. 

Initially, the area was sold for farming and comprised the land around Cabbage Tree Creek, bordered by what is now Zillmere Road, Roghan Road, Bridgeman Road, and the northerly continuation of Kirby Road, covering mostly what is now known as the suburbs Aspley, Carseldine, and Fitzgibbon.
