Seventeen Mile Rocks is one of the many suburbs of Brisbane, Australia. It is located southwest of the Brisbane central business district on the Brisbane River with a distance of 11km. Seventeen Mile Rocks is surrounded by other suburbs such as Sinnamon Park, Mount Ommaney, Sumner, Darra, Oxley, Corinda, and Fig Tree Pocket. 

The suburb got its name from a collection of rocks that is 27km away from the mouth of the Brisbane. The said rocks were largely removed in order to widen the river and allow access for the marine vessels to reach farther into the river. Although the suburb was previously industrial, during the recent years, new housing estates have been developed and in result, the residential population has greatly increased. 

Edenbrooke is known to be the major estate while Verandah is the newest estate. The major road through Seventeen Mile Rocks is a road named after the suburb itself. The Seventeen Mile Rocks Road links the suburb to Jindalee while Western Freeway and Oxley link to the western and eastern ends, respectively. Seventeen Mile Rocks is home to one of Brisbane’s largest riverside parks, Rocks Riverside Park.

 The park features walking and cycling tracks, along with a basketball court, a flying fox, a climbing web, picnic facilities, and playing fields. A drive-in movie used to exist in the suburb but it was removed in the late 1980s to make way for another housing estate. Several of these new estates feature walking tracks and lakes. The suburb also includes 3 Christian churches: iSee Church, 17 Mile Church, Riverlife Baptist Church.
