Upper Mount Gravatt is a suburb of Brisbane and is located south of Mount Gravatt. The suburb is surrounded by Mount Gravatt, Mount Gravatt East, Mansfield, Wishart, Eight Mile Plains, Nathan, and Macgregor. Upper Mount Gravatt is located 10km southeast of central business. The suburb has matured during the 60s and 70s on Logan Road and has increasingly become an important centre in the last 15 years.

When it comes to infrastructure, Logan Road and the Pacific Motorway run through it, in addition to the South-East Busway. Upper Mount Gravatt, together with Indooroopilly, Chermside, and Carindale, make up what is known to be a mini central business district. Upper Mount Gravatt contains the State Netball Centre, a major police district station, and a regional Australian Taxation Office. 

The suburb has also long been known to be one of the major centres, especially for the local residents in the south. Westfield Garden City, a major shopping centre that opened in 1970, contains services and popular restaurants. Westfield Garden City has a bus interchange and the Upper Mount Gravatt Busway Station right below it.
